Infinite Tai Chi

'be still like a mountain and flow like a great river' Lao Tzu

The ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi is becoming increasingly popular in the West as individuals of all ages discover for themselves the physical, emotional and mental benefits of this holistic form of exercise.  Scientific research studies have found Tai Chi to be particularly effective for improving physical strength, balance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness.  Significantly reduced levels of stress and anxiety have also been measured in those practising for as little as 8 weeks.

The Tao is absolute.  It means The Way.  The universal principle of yin and yang comes from the Tao.  The universal essence of the chi permeates the entire universe.

Tai Chi  originated from Chang San-feng who live on Wu-tang mountain where legend has it he lived for 200 years.  One day Chang San-feng awoke from his dreams to watch a group of herons dance around a snake.  He watched the snake maintain its circular shape, shifting slightly evading attack and waiting to attack.  The birds spread their wings to distract the snake and he saw how softness and circular movement could overcome attack.  To this he added breathing techniques and so tai chi movement was born.  Through this inspiration he developed Tai Chi Chuan.

Infinite Tai Chi has been created by Master Jason Chan specifically to meet the needs of individuals in our modern world.  It is a gentle but powerful form of flowing movement that will restore your inner peace of mind, strengthen and revitalise your physical body and calm your emotions.

Some of the many benefits gained from learning Infinite Tai Chi are:  rejuvenation, longevity, natural health, inner-strength, grace and beauty.  According to Jason Chan, Infinite Tai Chi is 'wholesome discipline for perfect harmony in life in which lies all our joy, happiness, health, abundance, compassion and love.'

Chi Kung
Infinite Chi Kung
'o harness the internal strength'

Infinite – limitless – life – consciousness – Tao
Chi – breath – air – energy – force
Kung – work – practice – benefit – power

Infinite Chi Kung combines deep breathing exercises and bodywork, utilising different postures and movements, to help to recapture the universal essence or ‘chi’ life force within all of us.  These techniques can be taken into your everyday life to reduce stress, promote stamina and overall well-being, and to regain a sense of empowerment, vitality and mental tranquillity.  Regular practice is therefore excellent preventative medicine.

The harmony of mind and breath is fundamental key to Infinite Chi Kung exercise and energy control.  Without clarity and presence of mind, breathing work becomes no more than a physical exercise that satisfies the lungs, massages the organs and assists in the circulation of the blood.  However, when practised with great mindfulness the results can be truly transformational.

In order to reach the stages of practice in which Infinite Chi Kung is used to assimilate, gather and distribute vital energy through the body's energy networks, the mind must be in complete command of the body and breath and you must be in complete command of your mind.

According to Jason Chan, a master practitioner of Infinite Chi Kung it can 'turn weakness into strength, timidity into bravery, fear into love, conflict into peace and sickness into health'.
